“Thought I did everything right”
This is my first cold sore outbreak so as you all can empathize with it’s pretty bad – clusters. I’m sick AF (have been for weeks) with strep so I think my body could just no longer fight the virus. (I assume I have it as my husband gets cold sores – always has – a few times/year.) I thought I did everything “right” concerning taking care of it. Didn’t pick at it, kept it clean, kept it moist, kept it covered with a patch when in hostile environments. (At work I sweat a lot and am in contact with a lot of steam and chemicals.) Tried putting toothpaste on it. I washed my hands like a MF.
I think it’s in the “scab” stage in that it’s brown and yellow with “crust” (although that’s hard for me to tell because the “crust” is soft). But I somehow woke up with 2 new XS blisters near the site and one in my mouth. Whyyyy? What else can I be doing? I thought I did everything right.
